Red Hat OpenShift Administration I: Operating a Production Cluster (DO180) prepares you to manage Kubernetes workloads on Red Hat OpenShift in a production environment. You will learn how to work closely with developers, DevOps engineers, system administrators, and site reliability engineers to keep applications available, stable, and scalable.

During the course, you will work with OpenShift clusters using both the command-line interface and the web console. You will deploy containerized applications from images and Kubernetes manifests, manage networking and storage for application data, and troubleshoot connectivity issues inside and outside the cluster. You will also learn how to configure applications for high availability and reliability, and how to manage updates and rollbacks in a controlled way.

The skills you gain in this course apply to all OpenShift environments, including Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, Red Hat OpenShift on AWS (ROSA), and Azure Red Hat OpenShift (ARO). This helps you support modern, cloud-native applications and collaborate effectively with both internal teams and managed service providers.
This course is based on Red Hat OpenShift 4.18.

Objectives

After this course, you will be able to deploy, manage, and troubleshoot containerized applications on Red Hat OpenShift in a production environment. You will know how to support highly available and reliable Kubernetes workloads while working closely with development and operations teams.

Target audience

This course is for platform engineers, system administrators, cloud administrators, and other infrastructure-focused IT professionals who manage OpenShift clusters or support application platforms. It is also suitable for enterprise architects, site reliability engineers, and DevOps engineers involved in designing and operating container platforms.

Developers and site reliability engineers who are new to containers are advised to first attend Red Hat OpenShift Development I: Introduction to Containers with Podman (DO188)

Requirements

– Containers, Kubernetes and Red Hat Openshift Technical Overview DO080 or equivalent knowledge of Linux containers.
– Getting Started with Linux Fundamentals (RH104) or equivalent proficiency in using a command line interface, ideally operating a Bash shell, is required.
