Red Hat OpenShift Administration II: Configuring a Production Cluster (DO280) builds on the skills learned in OpenShift Administration I and focuses on configuring and managing OpenShift clusters that support multiple applications and development teams. The course prepares OpenShift cluster administrators to handle daily operational tasks in production environments where security, reliability, and controlled access are critical.

During the course, you will learn how to deploy and manage applications using manifests, templates, Helm Charts, and Kustomize, and how to configure authentication and authorization for both users and applications. You will work with network policies to protect traffic inside and outside the cluster, expose applications securely, and manage applications that require elevated or special permissions, such as CI/CD tooling, monitoring solutions, and security scanners.

A strong emphasis is placed on multi-tenancy and self-service. You will learn how to safely enable developer self-service across multiple teams while maintaining operational control, as well as how to manage cluster and Kubernetes operator updates using OpenShift’s operator framework. By applying these skills, you can keep clusters secure, stable, and up to date with minimal disruption to running workloads.

The skills gained in this course apply to all OpenShift environments, including Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, Red Hat OpenShift on AWS (ROSA), and Azure Red Hat OpenShift. This enables you to work effectively with both self-managed and vendor-managed OpenShift clusters. This course is based on OpenShift Container Platform 4.18.

Do you want to get certified after this course? Then take the corresponding exam: Red Hat Certified OpenShift Administration (EX280).
