During the three-day Certified Data Center Specialist (CDCS®) course at Vijfhart, you will deepen your technical understanding of modern data centers. Youll learn how to evaluate, optimize, and prepare a data center for future growth. This course is developed in collaboration with EPI, the global standard for data center services. By the end of the course, you will understand the complex relationships between infrastructure, safety, and reliability-and know how to apply this knowledge to ensure business continuity.
You will explore topics such as power supply, cooling, cabling, and (fire) safety in greater depth. In addition, youll learn about the data center design life cycle and how to assess and improve each phase effectively. You will gain insight into Tier levels for both design and maintenance, learn how to discuss detailed requirements with suppliers and vendors, read a Single Line Electrical Diagram, and ensure compliance with electromagnetic field standards and interference prevention.
You will be taught by experienced instructors from the field who work daily with data center design and infrastructure. They share their knowledge, real-world examples, and best practices-so you not only understand how things work in theory but also how to apply them in realistic professional situations.
Upon completing the course, you will be fully prepared for the EPI exam. Until July 31, 2026, the exam is taken in person on the final day of the course. If you are attending online or cannot be present on the final day, you will receive a voucher to take the exam online at your convenience.
As of August 1, 2026, all participants will receive an EXIN Anywhere exam voucher. This allows you to take the online exam within twelve months at a time and location that suits you best. The EPI certification is internationally recognized and valid for three years.
The exam fee is included in the course price.
