The CDCP course at Vijfhart is an intensive data center training that gives you all the essential knowledge to design, manage, and optimize data centers. Over two days, you gain a complete overview of infrastructure and processes, with a strong focus on practical application and preparation for the official CDCP exam. The course was developed by EPI, the global authority on data center services such as audits, certifications, and consulting. In the Netherlands, EPI courses are exclusively available via Vijfhart.
During the course, you explore the key aspects of data center infrastructure. You learn how to distinguish different types of data centers and assess their impact on business continuity. The training also covers international standards and compliance requirements, site selection criteria, construction guidelines, and supporting facilities for building a resilient data center. Topics include power distribution and redundancy, UPS systems, microgrids, transformers, and batteries. You discover how to apply load management and grounding, and how raised floors and suspended ceilings contribute to optimal airflow and cooling.
Lighting and emergency lighting are discussed not only in terms of safety but also energy efficiency. You get to know EMF sources and shielding techniques, fire protection systems, and access control. The course also explores AI-driven cooling, liquid cooling, containment, and Seasonal Thermal Energy Storage (STER). For network and cabling design, you work with redundancy solutions and TIA-942 topologies. Monitoring is another key topic, including BMS, DCIM, EMS, water leak detection, and alarm panels, tools that help you detect and resolve issues early.
Through practical case studies, you apply these concepts in realistic scenarios: designing redundant power systems, optimizing airflow with raised floors, implementing fire suppression systems, or securing physical access. The course equips you with the skills to manage existing data center environments effectively and to anticipate future technological developments.
Certification
After completing the course, you will be prepared for the internationally recognised EPI exam. The certificate is valid for three years.
Exam at the training location
As standard, you will take the exam at the training location on the final course day. The exam is delivered digitally via EXIN Online. You must bring your own laptop with a working browser and internet connection. The trainer will act as the exam supervisor.
Online exam at a later time
If you attend the course online via Microsoft Teams, are unable to be physically present on the final course day, or there is insufficient time to take the exam during the course, you will receive an EXIN Anywhere voucher. This allows you to take the exam online at a time of your choice.
This course is guaranteed to run.
