It can also do IT orchestration, where you have to run tasks in sequence and create a chain of events which must happen on several different servers or devices. It can also do more advanced IT tasks such as continuous deployments or zero downtime rolling updates. Ansible’s goals are foremost those of simplicity and maximum ease of use. It also has a strong focus on security and reliability, featuring a minimum of moving parts, usage of OpenSSH for transport (with an accelerated socket mode and pull modes as alternatives), and a language that is designed around auditability by humans – even those not familiar with the program. Ansible is thus a very versatile tool. And best of all, it is getting more and more Buzzword Compliant. It even has Cow power and batteries included! Doel In this one day Ansible workshop you will get aquinted with the basic workings of Ansible, Ansible Adhoc commands and Ansible playbooks. The workshop is very hands-on and can be done on your own laptop, for which some virtual machines will be supplied. Bijzonderheden Ton Kersten is a Linux consultant and trainer at AT Computing in the Netherlands where he helps customers with all kinds of Linux challenges. He also tries to teach them the Linux and Ansible way of life. Ton started using Ansible in June 2012 (even before the Ansible company was founded) and has been contributing to the Ansible code since November 2012. As an Ansible Ambassador and contributor he is deeply immersed in the Ansible community and a frequent speaker at conferences and meetups about Ansible and configuration management in general.
